LAZY DAYS OF SUMMER ARE FILLED WITH ACTIVITY FOR JUNIOR GIANTS
Bay Area Men’s Senior Baseball League Teams Up for Junior Giants Festival
(San Francisco, CA, August 1, 2009) --- This Saturday, August 1st, the Bay Area Men’s Senior Baseball League (BAMSBL) will be taking part in a “Junior” event – the Junior Giants Festival, held at Balboa Park in San Francisco.
Hosted by the Giants Community Fund, Junior Giants baseball is a free, noncompetitive league that uses the fundamentals of the game to promote life skills meant to stick with youth and their families long after the last ball is thrown. The program relies on volunteers and community support to continue their mission, and this year, the BAMSBL is generously contributing their time and energy to keeping kids running the bases, instead of the streets, during the summer months.
“The BAMBSL is proud to be a part of an event that not only enables kids to play ball, but to become leaders within their own communities,” says Anthony Bishop of the BAMSBL. “We’re excited to have the opportunity to get more involved with the Junior Giants – it’s a great cause.”
Junior Giants leagues from Fresno to San Francisco will be in attendance this Saturday to enjoy a full day of activities. Youth participants and their families will have the chance to take part in a free health festival from 11am to 2pm, and can expect a visit from San Francisco Giants mascot, Lou Seal, around noon. Scoreless baseball games between the various leagues will be going on all day, in addition to a series of fun, free attractions provided by the BAMSBL.
